People generally ask me how can I be so comfortable and happy being alone and I answer that-‘it's not true’. I don’t want to be alone. But it feels good to be alone and spending some quality time with myself.
I am an Ambivert person and I have more traits of an introvert as compared to an extrovert like for example, never taking the first step in conversation especially with someone I am meeting for the very first time. I feel like my energy is depleting when I am around people for a very long time. I love to stay home and relax instead of partying. I feel it’s therapeutic for me. So, I am going to share some small benefits I gained by spending time in solitary.
Enjoy the Present time
If you get alone time don't let that moment go by thinking, that you have no one for this moment or you are lonely. Try to live that moment and enjoy by doing something special. Remember it is that moment when you can talk to yourself, sing aloud, do dancing and all those things from which you hold yourself from doing because you are with people and they might judge you but now you can allow yourself because nobody is there to judge you. I do a lot of things when I am alone but what I do mostly is to listen to nature sound like ocean waves, rain sounds etc., and meditate. It helps me to get my thoughts organised & declutter my mind from all those negative thoughts which are unnecessarily occupying my mind.
Get to know yourself
Utilize solitary in remembering your small victories; you’re most valuable moments and important lessons you learned from your mistakes. Trust me when I say that but I learned about myself while living in solitude for two years and it was fantastic.
Now I know how to treat my anxiety when people ask me questions "How can I be happy alone?"... and because I know what type of person I am, my self-acceptance mode is 'ON' and hence no more anxiety.
Challenge Yourself
If you are the biggest follower of productivity or do have inquisitive nature like me then challenge yourself and explore the moment by doing something new and productive. Nowadays the internet is very welcoming and therefore provides you with various platforms and options to go for. Learn any new skill or enhance your knowledge in your field of interest. Currently, I am taking a few online courses on topics like Recruitment & Hiring, Emotional intelligence, Psychology etc., started working out regularly and also after self-doubting for so long, at last, I started my blog utilizing this time of solitude. Just push yourself a bit and update the version of "YOU".
So, this is how I spend my alone time and upgrade. Spending time in solitude has helped me a lot in the last few years and I am a different person now.
